Nokia Lumia 1520 was officially launched earlier in October, its a first Windows Phone 8 device to power a quad core processor and a full HD 1080p display. Lumia 1520 packs 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage memory, Windows 8 operating system and comes with a PureView camera.
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 was also launched earlier this year, its the latest flagship of Samsung's Galaxy Note series. Note 3 powers a 5.7inch (144.3mm) Full HD Super AMOLED (1920 x 1080) screen, a 3GB of RAM, OCTA processor and runs on an Android 4.3 operating system.
Design
Nokia Lumia 1520 same as all Nokia Lumia device comes with a uni-body polycarbonate design which feels really good in hand. The device is not slim as it measures 162.8x85.4x8.7 mm and weighs around 209g which is bit heavy. With a 15.24 cm size of screen, Lumia 1520 gives users a full HD (1920 x 1080, 368 ppi) display screen.
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 owns a same design that its predecessors had and company has not make any change in its built as Note 3 is also made of plastic. The device is dominated by a 5.7inch (144.3mm) Full HD Super AMOLED (1920 x 1080) screen. Its light in weight (168g) as compared to Lumia 1520 and measures 151.2 x 79.2 x 8.3mm. And, if you see the device from back you will notice that Samsung has refined its back look with a all new leather finish. Moreover it comes with Samsung's S pen.
Specs
Coming to the specs, Nokia Lumia 1520 features a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.2 GHz. There's also a 2GB of RAM, 32GB built-in-storage which can be expandable upto 64GB via microSD card and if you need more than there's also a free cloud storage of 7GB.
In comparison to this, Samsung Galaxy Note 3 powers a Exynos 5 OCTA core processor with 3GB of RAM. Note 3 runs on an Android 4.3 operating system same as Lumia 1520 it also features a 32GB built-in-storage but a 64 GB version is also there which can be expandable up to 64GB via micro SD card.
The connectivity option of both the devices are almost identical, both include: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, GPRS, HSDPA, EDGE, HSUPA, USB ,LTE and A-GPS. The only difference we found is in the USB versions and Note 3 also features Infrared Port.
Both the devices have high quality camera's but to be saying honestly Nokia Lumia 1520 features a better camera than that of Galaxy Note 3.
Nokia Lumia 1520 powers a 20MP PureView camera and a HD 1.2 MP secondary camera shooter. As we all know that quality of image depends on the size of sensor, Lumia 1520 comes with a sensor size of 1/2.5 inches. With a dual LED flash its main camera includes: Optical image stabilization, PureView, Backside-illuminated image sensor, 6-lens optics, High resolution zoom 2x.
In comparison to this, Samsung Galaxy Note 3 powers a CMOS 13MP rear camera and a 2MP front-facing camera shooter. As we mentioned above that the quality of image depends more on size of sensors, its sensor size is smaller than that of in Lumia 1520. Moreover its rear camera shots excellent in day light or in artificial light conditions.
Battery
Both the devices have an excellent battery backup as Lumia 1520 powers a Li-ion 3400 mAh battery and Note 3 powers a Li-ion 3200 mAh battery.
Price Details
The price of both the device are almost same and both are available in India. Nokia Lumia 1520 is priced at INR 46,900 and Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is priced at INR 46,000.
Conclusion
This time am really confused which one to recommend, as both the devices are simply awesome. I just can say if you are looking for a device with better camera quality than Nokia Lumia 1520 will be the right choice and if you are an avid fan of Android and looking for a cool design then go for Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
