White Nexus 4: Rumors and Reality

Rumors about the White Nexus 4

Previously pictured and reviewed in a video, the White Nexus 4 was supposed to be a new addition to the Google family that has got masses swooning over it. Though the Smartphone is manufactured by LG, it has Google at its core.

With 2GB of RAM, Nexus 4 was expected to sport a quad-core processor with a 4.7-inch 1280 x 768p display. Although Google was offering the White Nexus 4 in half the price of iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy S3, the on-paper specs of Nexus 4 matched with these Smartphone. It was rumored to be available with 8GB and 16GB storage.

When the pictures of Nexus 4 leaked online, tech experts did not deem it a pioneer when it came to hardware and design. The design was considered by some to be feminine with its disco ball effect. White Nexus 4 was rumored to be running a new version of Android. Techies still weren’t sure if it would be called Jelly Beans or Key Lime Pie.

The rumor mill was hard at work digging up news about what Android 4.3 will bring with it. It was rumored to be supporting Bluetooth Low Energy OpenGL for Embedded Systems 3.0 graphics and app data synchronization. A lot of people were waiting to see just what the fuss was all about. Most were predicting that the White Nexus would not be disappointing. Tech enthusiasts, all around the world waited impatiently for this low priced Smartphone, which was rumored to be high on specs.

The Reality

As per the rumors, White Nexus 4 flaunts some high-end specs. Its older counterparts have failed to impress the crowds but the Nexus 4 has introduced some eye-popping specs that the Smartphone market has never seen before. Google is the first one to showcase these features in a handset.

Although it comes with its own set of flaws, Nexus 4 can still be considered desirable with its svelte design and a lesser number of blemishes. Its slick, black design makes it a little less than the most comfortable phone. While it is only 9.1mm in thickness and 4.7 inches in length, Nexus 4 is allegedly a bit chunky when held in hand. The phone lacks curves and has rubber-ish edges that might call for an impromptu escape from the hand or pocket.
Like many other devices running Android, Nexus 4 does not have a sliding back plate. This eliminates the option of a microSD memory expansion. The micro SIM can be inserted in the handset through a SIM tray, on the side.
